Shbabna 1.0.2: Jelli in your chats and a sticker studio

This is one of our biggest updates yet. We worked on what you asked for most: more fun chats, an easier Spark, and a place to show your skills. Update the app at shbabna.app/download and try it yourself.

New

Jelli and Sharara in any chat

You can now call Jelli or Sharara into any group or private chat: type @jelli or @sharara, or reply to one of their messages, and they'll answer right there. They can also search the web when your question needs fresh information, and they list their sources under the answer.

They only see your message and a few messages before it, and they keep nothing from the chat. If you'd rather not have them in your group, its admins can switch them off in the group's settings.

Sticker studio

Make your own stickers in My stickers:

• From a photo: remove the background in one tap, tidy the edges with the eraser, and add a white outline and text.
• From a video: pick up to 3 seconds and turn them into an animated sticker.
• From your chats: press and hold any sticker you receive to save it.

My professional profile and skills

Upload your CV (PDF) and choose who can see it: everyone, people you follow, or companies only. Add your skills from a ready-made list, or type your own.

A better Spark

• Photo posts now appear in Spark: swipe through the photos.
• Pinch to zoom on any video or photo.
• Press and hold the middle of the screen to pause and hide the buttons.
• Repost straight from Spark.
• Sound plays even when your phone is on silent.
• Come back to a video and it carries on where you left it.

New search

Search people, posts and Spark videos, with a tab for each: All, People, Spark, Posts. Search also understands different spellings of Arabic words.

React with any emoji

Tap + next to the reactions and pick any emoji. You'll get a notification when someone reacts to your message.

Reply to replies

Inside any comment thread, every reply now has a Reply button, and its writer is told you answered them.

Your profile

• A Spark tab shows your videos with their view counts.
• Share your profile with a QR code on great-looking backgrounds, or save it as an image.
• Edit your interests whenever you like.

Certificate notifications

Get notified when someone you follow shares a new certificate. You can switch it off in your notification settings.

Improvements

• Comments: add a photo to your comment, and links in comments are now tappable.
• Drafts: what you type in comments and chats is saved if you leave.
• Saving a video shows its progress as a percentage.
• Loading: the Shbabna logo is now the loading animation across the app.

Fixes

• Large videos from editing apps now play right away on every phone after posting, with a cover picture.
• A video now pauses when you open a story over it, and carries on when you close it.
• The "poll ended" notification now opens the poll.
• Counts are more precise, like 11.3K instead of 11K.

Thank you to everyone who sent us feedback: most of this update came from your ideas 💜 Got an idea? Tell Jelli in your messages.
